Amazon.com Product Description
The Humminbird Fishfinder 595c Sonar and GPS Combo is an all-in-one fishfinder for the recreational angler that offers incredible ease of use, as well as GPS chartplotting with built-in UniMap. This little helper may be small, but it packs a wallop and is the perfect companion for your fishing outings, with plenty of functionality and advanced features.

The full-featured Fishfinder 595c Combo has an internal, 16-channel WAAS GPS receiver with omni-directional antenna for higher performance, and a built-in, four-nautical-mile resolution UniMap of USA inland lakes, rivers and coastal areas that puts you on top of the hot spots. The mapping is upgradable to Navionics seamless cartography with inland freshwater maps from Navionics HotMaps and Marine cartography for blue water use. The Fishfinder 595c utilizes a 20-degree, single-beam sonar optimized for coverage and precision bottom detail that reaches a depth of up to 1,000 feet. While ideal for small spaces, the Fishfinder 595c Combo is big in performance, with real-time sonar that instantly captures the action under your boat, and Sonar Echo Enhancement that reveals the smallest details -- even your jig! All the information you need is displayed on a high-resolution, five-inch LCD screen with 320x240 lines and in 256-color TFT that is sunlight viewable and offers a choice between Whiteline or Structure ID Bottom Presentation. This fishfinder has a high-speed, micro-dynamic transducer for optimum performance that is reliable up to 70 mph, and even includes water temperature and GPS speed. The Fishfinder 595c Combo is easy to control with X-Press Menus that access the most important controls with fewer button presses, and features TruArch for actual fish returns or selective fish ID+ with target depth, as well as one-touch zoom with 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x zoom levels, and TripLog with distance, elapsed time, and average speed. This system also features a selectable large, easy-to-read digital readout with a bright CCFL backlight and selectable screen background colors for night use, adjustable chart speed, and a memory that retains your settings. The Fishfinder 595c Combo includes fully automatic or manual operation, with upper and lower range controls, as well as alarms for depth, fish, and battery life. As an added convenience, this finder is ultra-compact in size, with an easy-on, easy-off mounting system that allows it to go almost anywhere. The Fishfinder 595c Combo is built tough with fully gasketed and waterproof construction so it even floats, and is assembled in the USA with a manufacturer's one-year warranty.

The Fishfinder 595c Combo runs on 10-20 volts of DC power, providing 300 watts RMS output and 2,400 watts of peak-to-peak output. This unit operates on the 200kHz (20-degrees at -10db) frequency, and has a target separation of 2.5 inches to reveal close-hanging fish. The GPS unit in this item includes 750 waypoints, 20 routes, and 10 tracks with 2,000 points each. The Fishfinder 595c Combo comes as a Transom Mount with a tilt-and-swivel quick-disconnect mount system and measures 7.25 x 7 x 4 inches (WxHxD).

4 out of 5 stars color gps nice no base maps notso nice   October 7, 2008

this gps DF is nice but it comes with no base maps. not roads or nothing. I had to pay navionics 150 bucks for a set of maps that has some local maps but only the more popular lakes SEEM to go into great detail. The fishfinder is great the color is vivid and can be adjusted to different base colors so it doesnt blind you at night. The sceen also prevents glare during the day. I really like the unit but the maps are high and outdated.

5 out of 5 stars It's a great buy   July 20, 2008

This is a great buy and works well. That is, the screen is easily viewed in shade and sun. I'll leave the spec tech stuff to others, but mention two small nits. One, the basic gps maps are way too simplistic to use for fishing. You must buy an MMC card (or two if you are going to use this in different geographical locations).

Which brings up the second nit, it only takes Navionics cards, and at least for fishing in Minnesota, LakeMaster has better maps.

5 out of 5 stars Humminbird 595c   October 9, 2007

It a great a valuable piece of equipment. Im especilly impressed with the quality of the color screen and the fact I can see it in the worst conditions. I use it in the Gulf of Mexico and it provides me with accuate information in Depth, speed and also hits the mark with the fish finder. I turn it on as soon as I leave my marina the rivers here are very shallow and I can count on my Humminbird's depth sounder to keep me off the ground.

A great piece of electonic equipment for a very resonable price.
